Dark cherry and blackcurrant lead an elegant, full-flavoured red, with gentle cedar, dried herbs and warm spice adding savoury detail. The palate is polished rather than heavy, its ripe fruit held by fresh acidity and fine, measured tannins. Composed and persistent, it suits roast lamb, braised beef or mushroom dishes.

About Summerhill Pyramid Winery
Summerhill began in 1986, when Stephen Cipes bought a vineyard in Kelowna and moved his family from New York the following year. The family started the vineyard’s formal organic transition in 1988 and made its first experimental crush in 1990. Summerhill is certified organic for growing grapes and making wine under the Canada Organic Regime.
The home vineyard achieved Demeter biodynamic status in 2012. Traditional-method sparkling wine became an early speciality and remains central to the winery through the Cipes wines. Twenty acres of the property are protected by a restrictive covenant for wildlife habitat.
