Red cherry and plum open into dried herbs, leather, vanilla and a light earthy note. The palate is smooth, fresh and persistent, with bright acidity carrying the mature fruit and fine tannins. Tobacco and savoury spice appear through the middle, leading to a dry, classically styled Rioja finish.

About Lopez Heredia
Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta began building his winery in Haro around 1877, during Rioja’s nineteenth-century commercial expansion. The family established named vineyards, including Tondonia, and retained control of long ageing in the bodega’s cellars. Successive generations continue the house, making current family stewardship distinct from Rafael’s founding role.
Tempranillo and other traditional Rioja grapes are used across red, white and rosé wines from separately identified vineyards. Extended barrel and bottle maturation is central to the producer, but exact periods remain specific to each wine and release. The house's long cellaring, family continuity and named Rioja vineyards remain inseparable from its Haro roots.
