La Croix Bonis 2015 Saint-Estephe

$63.99

Cassis, dark cherry and plum open the aroma, followed by cedar, graphite and a light savoury note. The palate is approachable for Saint-Estèphe, with fresh black fruit and measured oak supported by firm but controlled tannins. Tobacco and spice add detail through the middle, and the finish is dry, structured and persistent.

About Château Phélan Ségur
Irish wine merchant Bernard O’Phelan assembled the foundations of Château Phélan Ségur in Saint-Estèphe during the early nineteenth century. He acquired Clos de Garramey in 1805 and Ségur de Cabanac in 1810, joining parcels whose names still inform the estate’s history. The vineyard occupies gravel and clay soils near the Gironde, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot forming the core of its red blends. Philippe Van de Vyvere acquired Phélan Ségur in 2018 and represents the current ownership chapter after several earlier family periods. The estate’s official account records this succession while keeping Bernard O’Phelan’s founding role distinct from present leadership and technical management. Phélan Ségur's record connects O'Phelan's nineteenth-century acquisitions with Philippe Van de Vyvere's ownership in Saint-Estèphe.
