About Izeta Sagardotegia
Izeta Sagardotegia grew from the Iruretagoiena family's home cider-making in Aia, a tradition spanning five generations. In 1983, Manuel Iruretagoiena opened the Izeta Goikoa farmhouse to the public. Successive generations have also taken part in the Basque sports of stone lifting and stone dragging. Its Euskal Sagardoa cider is made entirely from native apples grown in Izeta's own orchards and nearby farmsteads along the Urola Coast. Varieties used include Txalaka, Urtebi Txiki, Urtebi Handi, Goikoetxe and Errezila.
