About Caymus
Chuck Wagner and his parents, Charlie and Lorna, opened Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford in 1972 with 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon. The family’s Napa Valley farming roots reach back to the 1850s, long before their home winemaking grew into a commercial winery. Caymus remains family-owned and run, with Chuck working alongside his children Charlie and Jenny.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the focus, using grapes from both the valley floor and mountain sites across Napa. Special Selection began in 1975, when Chuck and his father set aside their favourite barrels to bottle separately.
