Unfiltered and surprisingly light in mouthfeel, this dark lager has a dominant malt flavour with almonds, toast and a touch of caramel. Exact specialist profiles also record nutty aromas, grains, hints of smoke, sweet malt and a crisp finish. The release is listed at five per cent alcohol, with malt, nuts, toast, caramel and smoke forming its documented flavour range.

Jorden Foss and James Garbutt opened Steel & Oak in New Westminster on June 24, 2014. The brewery draws on North American and German beer styles, techniques and ingredients. Its beers are unfiltered and unpasteurized. The brewery and tasting room share a home on Third Avenue.
