Wild strawberry, red cherry and blood orange rise from the glass with lavender, botanical herbs and a peppery mineral note. The palate is dry and silky, with bright acidity giving definition to the ripe fruit and gentle spice. A subtle saline edge keeps the finish fresh, savoury and quietly persistent.

About Clos Fornelli
Clos Fornelli is Josée Vanucci-Couloumère and Fabrice Couloumère’s family estate in Corsica’s lower Bravone valley. Josée’s ancestors were shepherds from Boziu who settled here and planted vines. After renovating an old cellar, Josée and Fabrice bottled their first wines in 2005.
Their wines use Corsican varieties, including rare grapes replanted with help from the island’s viticultural research centre. The vines grow on terraces of loam, sand and rounded stones, formed from eroded schist carried down from Castagniccia. The vineyard is managed without herbicides, with irrigation avoided unless the vines’ survival is at risk.
