Floral lift gives way to ripe blackberry, fig, dark cherry and a subtle toasted note. The palate is dense and silky, layering blackberry compote, plum cake and prune over dusty, well-integrated tannins. Espresso, black liquorice, cocoa and spice linger through the remarkably long, warming finish.

About Poças
Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior founded Poças in 1918, and the Portuguese wine house remains in the family’s hands. The fourth generation now runs the house. Its three estates are Quinta das Quartas, Quinta de Santa Bárbara and Quinta Vale de Cavalos, with cellars in Gaia for ageing Port. The range includes Vintage Port and long-cask-aged Colheitas as well as dry Douro wines.
