Smoke, cigar wrapper, ripe plum and currant open into cedar, wet earth and warm spice. The palate is rich and full, combining deep concentration with bright red fruit, silky tannins and a measured dusty edge on the long, classic finish. Still poised for further development, it benefits from two to three hours in a decanter before serving with lamb or beef.

About Château Lafite Rothschild
Château Lafite Rothschild was documented as a wine-producing property by 1234 and was ranked a First Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. Baron James de Rothschild acquired the Pauillac estate in 1868, beginning more than 150 years of stewardship by successive family generations. Saskia de Rothschild became chairwoman of Domaines Barons de Rothschild in 2018, representing the sixth generation. The vineyard’s gravel and clay regulate water around a subtle rise known historically as La Hite, while the grand vin is matured in French oak made by the group’s own Pauillac cooperage.
