About Champagne Lacourte-Godbillon
Champagne Lacourte-Godbillon grew from two Écueil winegrowing families whose grandparents tended vines and sold their grapes before beginning to bottle under their own labels in 1947. Jean-Guy Lacourte and Claudine Godbillon harvested together in 1968 and gradually established the joined house, initially producing only a few thousand bottles. Their daughter Géraldine Lacourte and her husband, Richard Desvignes, left city careers in 2006 to return home and take the domaine forward.
Their roughly eight hectares are concentrated in Premier Cru Écueil, with a small holding in Les Mesneux, and are planted predominantly to Pinot Noir with Chardonnay completing the picture. Organic certification began with the 2020 harvest, followed by biodynamic certification in 2022.
