Dark and complex, opening with toffee, caramel and toasted grain over leather, licorice and a trace of menthol. The palate is full and weighty, layering vanilla, clove and cinnamon with dates, figs and toasted walnut. Rye and corn notes bring lift beneath the older oak. The finish is long and warming, carrying treacle, black pepper, dark fruit and a quiet wisp of smoke.
