Douro Valley
Quinta da Costa do Pinhão 2015 Peladosa
Fresh and mineral-led, with sapid plum and wild raspberry unfolding alongside rock rose, graphite, worn leather and beeswax. The palate carries ample yet finely placed tannins, giving the old-vine fruit structure without obscuring its energy. Pink peppercorn and schist-like mineral detail linger through a vibrant, savoury and persistent finish.
Luís Seabra 2020 Indie Xisto Tinto
Savoury red and blue fruit leads, with forest floor, wet stone and green herbs giving the nose a cool, earthy frame. Layered on the palate, it combines ripe berry depth with white and black pepper, fresh acidity and fine tannic grip. The finish is persistent, slate-led and quietly smoky, with the fruit remaining clear and composed.
Niepoort 2015 Redoma Douro
Dark cherry, plum and blackberry meet violet, dried herbs and a cool mineral note. The palate is structured and energetic, with fine tannins carrying the fruit rather than overwhelming it. Savoury spice and graphite emerge toward a persistent, balanced finish. Give it air and serve with lamb, braised beef or earthy mushroom dishes.
Quinta do Portal 2007 Grande Reserva Douro
Powerful yet fresh, with plum, dried berries and dark blue fruit framed by cedar, graphite and mineral detail. The palate is dense and succulent, its generous fruit supported by firm, medium-grained tannins and bright acidity. Spice builds through a long, structured finish that still feels composed. Serve with braised beef, lamb, game or aged hard cheese.
Quinta do Vallado 2018 Douro Superior Red
Vivid and intensely aromatic, opening with the floral lift of Touriga Nacional and hints of exotic fruit over a dark-fruited core. The palate is concentrated yet silky, its ripe tannins carrying generous fruit with composure. Fresh, citrus-edged acidity and a trace of wild berries sharpen the long, energetic finish.
Vasques de Carvalho 2015 Oxum Tinto
Generous ripe fruit leads a warm, open profile, with an elegant texture and supple, gently rounded tannins. The palate is smooth and approachable, carrying its fruit clearly without feeling heavy. A soft, composed finish makes this an easy table red. Serve with braised beef, roast lamb, game or slow-cooked stews.
CARM 2016 Douro Reserva
Very fresh and intense on the nose, with wild black berries, black cherry and a measured thread of liquorice, framed by subtle oak. Concentrated and warm on the palate, with firm tannins set into a smooth texture and enough freshness to keep the generous fruit composed. The finish is long, persistent and distinctly powerful.
Fonseca NV Ruby Port
Black cherry and cassis fill the nose, joined by ripe plum and a subtle floral note. Full-bodied and sweet without losing shape, the palate carries dark berry fruit through velvety texture and firm, well-integrated tannins. Freshness keeps the richness composed, leading to a long, generous and fruit-driven finish.
