Antonio Scala 2021/22 Ciro Bianco
100% Greco, from a 2 hectare vineyard located in Cirò (Crotone district). Spicy, fresh aromas of peach, quince and honeysuckle hold much allure. The palate is white spice, salty, fresh and focused. This is an irresistible example of the native Greco grape.
"I think greco bianco (unrelated to Campania’s greco di Tufo) is potentially one of Italy’s best native grape varieties." - Ian d’Agata
Antonio Scala 2022 Ciro Classico
Lugny Cremant Rose
Cailleteau Bergeron 2022 Futs De Chene
Antonio Scala 2021 Ciro Rosato
One of the most interesting pink wines we’ve come across. 100% Gaglioppo from 30 year old vineyard located in Cirò (Crotone district), with a south/south-east exposure – sand and clay soil. Juicy, spicy and ripe, it offers a delightful nose of red cherry, raspberry and aromatic herbs. Finishes long and mineral with a mouth-watering a sweet and sour tang.
An outstanding Rosato showcasing just how suited Gaglioppo is to making pink wines.
Lapeyre 2019 Jurancon Sec
Coquard 2019 Chiroubles
100% Gamay from the Chiroubles appellation in Beaujolais. This is one of the smallest appellations and also one of the most elevated, with some vineyards rising over 450m above sea level.
The 2019 presents lovely purple florals and crisp red fruit. Imagine fresh picked cherry meets a lavender bloom. These aromas are folded into a soft bed of silky fine tannins. Enjoy this wine young or let it develop up to 2029.
Coquard 2019 Julienas ‘Jules Cesar’
Springfield 2021 Thunderchild
34% Cabernet Franc | 33% Cabernet Sauvignon | 33% Merlot
This classical blend was created by using the ancient technique of fermenting uncrushed berries with native yeast from the grapes. After aging for one year in French barrels, it was bottled without fining or filtration. A further 12 months of bottle aging took place prior to release.
100% of the profits from this wine are donated to the Die Herberg charity which provides aid to children from broken homes.
Coquard 2019 Fleurie
The wine greets the nose with an enticing bouquet of fresh flowers, particularly violet and peony, characteristic of Fleurie wines. There are also subtle hints of red berries, such as ripe strawberries and raspberries, along with a touch of spice, perhaps reminiscent of white pepper or cinnamon.
On the palate, Coquard Fleurie is light-bodied and elegant, with soft, silky tannin that provide structure without overwhelming the senses. The dominant flavors mirror the aromas, with bright red fruit notes taking center stage. Juicy raspberry, cherry, and cranberry flavors dance across the palate, accompanied by floral undertones that add depth and complexity. There's a refreshing acidity that balances the fruitiness, lending the wine a lively and refreshing character. The finish is smooth and lingering, leaving a subtle impression of red fruits and florals.
