d'Aydie
Château d’Aydie, owned by the Laplace family, is widely recognized as a top producer of both Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic Bihl. Frédéric Laplace, who inherited the family business – which dates back to 1759 – took charge of the estate in the 1920s becoming a pioneer winemaker of the region. Robert Parker refers to the Laplace family as “One of the best producers” of wine in the Southwest
Aydie 2019 Madiran Ode D’Aydie
Aydie 2022 Madiran L’Origine
A bold, Tannat-driven Madiran with intense aromas of black plum, blackberry, and cassis layered with graphite, spice, and a hint of cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and structured, showing firm, grippy tannins balanced by fresh acidity and a dense core of dark fruit, with subtle oak adding depth and polish. Powerful yet composed, finishing long and savoury with classic Madiran grip and strong cellaring potential.
