Clean, bright purple-red colour. Lovely aromas of red and blackberries against a background of roasted notes, anise and cocoa. Very friendly and balanced in the palate, showing good structure and volume but fresh and lightly spicy as well. Smooth and delicious.
A superb single-vineyard Ciró Rosso made from 100% Gaglioppo grown in sandy clay soils, fermented in stainless steel and aged in concrete for a year. It has an enticing nose of red fruits, orange peel, scrub-brush, baking spices, and a deeper, cherry kirsch sweetness.

Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
High quality herbs are carefully selected for this radiant ruby red vermouth. Fresh floral aromas tickle the nose, while a slight sweetness teases the palate. The end is persistent with a subtle, nuanced bitterness that will leave you wanting more.

The Nebbiolo that comes off this property is some of the best in La Morra. Even in challenging vintages the Monfalletto terroir yields Nebbiolo that is both powerful and supple. Insiders know that this is one of the best terroirs in Barolo.
