La Collina Langhe Freisa 2012
Medium intensity ruby color with purple hues. Fermented dry with subdued elegant frothiness. Pleasing aromas of mountain strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with violet and almond notes. Medium body, long finish and moderate acidity with complex fruit flavours. Great partner for cold cuts, tomato sauce pasta, linguine clams and herbed poultry. This wine would typically sell here for nearly $50.

This terrific Tuscan value comes from carefully selected grapes 400 metres above sea level on top of a limestone ridge adjacent to the ancient village of Montepulciano. The grapes are hand harvested and after a traditional vinification it spends 2 years in oak.
Aromatic, expressive and round, this vintage offers loads of Sangiovese character in a succulent, mid-weight style that will find plenty of admirers. The balance of the texture and freshness makes for a compelling Chianti to drink now and over the next few years. All and all, a terrific Tuscan value!

100% Pinot Noir grown on Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone. Aged in a combo of 70% wood *Foudres and used 400L barrels) and 30% tank for 12 months.
The terroir of the village of Morogues combined with strict vineyard practices results in a beautiful Pinot that would not be out of place in a tasting of Volnays.
