Since 1927, three generations of winegrowers have succeeded each other at the Château Aydie. Today, the Laplace family (Famille Laplace) runs the Château's 58 hectares using sustainable practices. The ocean climate and nearby Pyrenées mean winter and spring are both temperate and wet, with a warm summer and a very sunny autumn. These climatic conditions together with the widely diverse terroirs allow them to develop wines with rich characteristics typical of the region.

$59.99
Deep, intense ruby red. Fine, elegant and complex on the nose, with a blend of black fruit and coffee aromas. It starts off rich and follows through with a mature consistency and silky tannins. Fine, precise woody mouth aromas. An exceptional Madiran, powerful and complex, with unusual potential. This wine can very easily be kept for 7 to 10 years.

Reverdito Barolo Castagni 2016
$99.99
Vineyard: La Morra
Production: 6,000 bottles
Soil: Marl & Limestone
Castagni vineyard lies at an altitude of 370 to 450 metres above sea level. Given the near perfect vintage, the 2016 Castagni offers beautiful drinking now but will most certainly reward cellaring. Incredible value for money here in such a pricey and sought after vintage. Lots of typical dark morello cherry and forest fruit, sweet spice and leather with a more savoury, smoky finish and firm but rounded tannins. This is a remarkably harmonious young Barolo.
Reverdito Barolo Ascheri 2016
$129.99
Vineyard: La Morra
Production: 4,000 bottles
Soil: Marl
Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
