Chateau Le Roc, a fantastic Bordeaux producer from the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers, the relatively flat lowland part of Bordeaux between the Gironde and Dordogne rivers. The region is known for producing wines of terrific value. The terroir is made of clay and limestone, with vines planted around 35 years ago. Monsieur Cedric Landie, the owner and winemaker of the Chateau, leads the way in producing commendable, excellent-value bordeaux.

Given the price, an impressive Bordeaux Blanc made from carefully selected grapes from the clay and limestone soils of entre-deux-mers. Grape fruit, citrus and lemon aromas lead to a palate that’s fresh and inviting. The balance of the texture and freshness makes for a compelling white wine to drink now and over the next couple of years. All and all, a terrific value from the terrific 2018 vintage!

The Mistral Chardonnay 2017
From Lodi, California Expertly crafted and aged for 6 months in French Oak barrels. Full-bodied and deliciously dry, it features exquisite richness and pronounced ripe tropical fruit notes. It has a smooth, creamy body and a long, citrus finish. Excellent with fish, mussels and clams, and with soft cheese.
Vergers Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2019/20
Crisp with fresh acidity. Delicious lemon zest with subtle yet delicate flavours of apple, pear, grass and well-balanced minerality. Great with fish, turkey, ham or as an aperitif.
Baumard ‘La Caleche’ 2019
Low yields, hand harvesting and farmed according to organic principles. 9 months in vats on fine lees. Aromas of pears, lemons, peaches and honey with floral and mineral hints. Great tension on the palate, which is pure with persistence and incredible precision. An easy wine to drink with well-balanced acidity and great structure.
Casa Vilacetinho Vinho Verde 2021
Pale lemon-yellow colour. Aromas of white orchard fruits and a light touch of tropical fruitiness on the nose. Fresh, smooth and enjoyable on the palate, lovely for sipping on any occasion.
Domaine de la Ragotierre Chardonnay 2021
Fresh and vibrant in the glass, it impresses for its energy and elegance. Bright lemon, grapefruit, white flower and crushed rock notes race across the palate. At the same time, there is plenty of texture and richness. This terrific wine will delight Chablis fans for a fraction of the price.
Bodegas Gaintza Getariako Txakolina Aitako 2019
85% Hondarrabi Zuri, 15% Chardonnay Fully hand-harvested. Fermentation is mostly in stainless steel at low temperatures to preserve aromas, using natural yeasts. Apple and pineapple aromas. Fresh and mineral with good body, roundness and balance.
Cave de Lugny ‘La Cart’ Macon-Lugny 2018
From the single vineyard ‘La Carte’ in the village of Lugny. A beautifully crafted white Burgundy, rich and creamy, with floral and honey flavours, ending with mineral and grapefruit notes. Beautifully balanced, a wonderful expression of the limestone soils. A delight to drink.
d’Arenberg “The Money Spider Roussanne” 2018/19/20
An intense, exotic nose with aromas of orange zest, kaffir lime and lemongrass. The palate is rich and intense with loads of texture. Concentrated flavours of citrus, grapefruit and green mango, followed by an attractive, slightly firm finish.
