Vineyard: Serralunga d’Alba Production: 6,000 bottles Soil: Limestone This vineyard is characterized by its considerable altitude, which brings noteable freshness to the Nebbiolo grown here. Bardarina is especially powerful in this vintage. Intense black and blue fruit, leather, licorice, smoke and spices meld together for incredibly dense and complex wine backed up by considerable structure. This is a wonderfully complete Barolo that will reveal its greatness in time.

Vineyard: La Morra Production: 4,000 bottles Soil: Marl Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
