The Syrah dominant blend gives off blue and black fruit characters with a slight peppery note. There are no barrels used in the winemaking so the wine presents very fresh, opulent fruit. The fruit is warmer and juicier than a St-Joseph or other equivalent wine from the north but without losing the necessary acidity to carry it through. The 2020 is memorable for its fresh acidity despite intense summer heat.

This vineyard is characterized by its considerable altitude, which brings noteable freshness to the Nebbiolo grown here. Bardarina is especially powerful in this vintage. Intense black and blue fruit, leather, licorice, smoke and spices meld together for incredibly dense and complex wine backed up by considerable structure. This is a wonderfully complete Barolo that will reveal its greatness in time.
