An incredibly expressive bouquet: peony, violet, white pepper, cocoa, eucalyptus and star anise. An impressive palate from the outset with powerful flavour. The body is vibrant, unctuous and sensual leading to a mineral and acid driven finish. With its power and juiciness, Bélandes goes perfectly with braised lamb, roasted rabbit or roast duck.

From Michele Reverdito’s favourite cru comes Barolo Bricco Cogni, planted by Silvano Reverdito in 1967, the year he was married. An aromatic powerhouse in 2016 with dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and licorice all melding beautifully together. This is super-impressive in the early going. Truly a Barolo of class and character, the Bricco Cogni has so much to offer.
Reverdito Barolo Ascheri 2016

Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
