Maison Chatelets Hautes Cotes de Nuits 2018
$44.99
This heavily discounted Burgundy (regular price would be $64.99/bottle) is made by the quality-driven estate of Domaine de Rochebin. It is made from old vine Pinot Noir planted in the early 1970s. The Domaine itself was founded over one hundred years ago.
Look for red fruit (strawberry and cherry) and hints of violets and spice. Fine, medium- bodied tannins on the palate with soft and refreshing acidity round out this savoury Burgundian red. Utterly delicious on its own and versatile with food.
For wine lovers looking for that rare bottle of Red Burgundy that truly over delivers for the price. This Pinot Noir will stand out on the shelf for being one of the very few offerings under $45.00

About Maison Chatelets
This Hautes Cotes de Nuits is 100% Pinot Noir grown from hillside vineyards that surround the domaine. This patchwork of climates and terroirs together with old vines is the secret behind this Pinot: the grapes are slowly matured in perfect weather conditions and produce a crisp and elegantly balanced wine. All the vineyards are situated on cool hillside slopes, the key to achieving a ripe yet elegant style of Pinot Noir.

Aromatic, expressive and round, this vintage offers loads of Sangiovese character in a succulent, mid-weight style that will find plenty of admirers. The balance of the texture and freshness makes for a compelling Chianti to drink now and over the next few years. All and all, a terrific Tuscan value!

An incredibly expressive bouquet: peony, violet, white pepper, cocoa, eucalyptus and star anise. An impressive palate from the outset with powerful flavour. The body is vibrant, unctuous and sensual leading to a mineral and acid driven finish. With its power and juiciness, Bélandes goes perfectly with braised lamb, roasted rabbit or roast duck.
