It all began with 2 hectares over 80 years ago. Today the Dartier’s own 40 hectares of prime vineyard in the Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Their goal from the beginning has been simple: produce classic, age worthy Bordeaux at an affordable price.

Barolo produced here is best described as “warm-hearted”. Michele’s Barolo Ascheri comes from the classic chalky soils of La Morra about 250 meters up the steep hillside, inter-planted with several types of grasses and beans to aid biodiversity and soil structure. The resulting wine has an enticing nose of flowers, ripe strawberries and dark cherries, and a good mouthful of plummy ripe elegant fruit. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a ton to offer.
