Last century, we began our quest for the best Champagne house in the world -- not for the best-known ones, but for the actual growers in Champagne. They are important because they actually own the vineyards and they produce the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier used in all true champagne.

Liberty has always focused on small-growers: the typical family-owned producers who carefully craft their wines with equal parts knowledge and passion. Many of these wineries do (or are starting to) use organic or biodynamic viticulture.

DID YOU KNOW that the larger the bottle, the more likely the wine will age gracefully? Magnums, especially, make a perfect cellar standard.

If you decide to celebrate an occasion with an extra-special size; you'll want to follow a few guidelines:

1. Since cradles are usually only available for 750ml sized bottles, have some very reliable friends or family around to help you tip the bottle on a table
2. Ensure that you pour into a decanter, never directly into wine glasses. These wines always need decanting.
3. Finally....pour very carefully!
