2005 Bordeaux Futures

2005 Bordeaux. The vintage of the century? The vintage of a lifetime?

Possibly, but what we do know is that 05 is a truly great vintage by all accounts, producers, critics and consumers (who have had the chance to barrel sample) all agree about the fantastic quality of these wines.

The bad news is that with increased demand there is increased pricing, dramatically is some cases. That being said there are still some terrific values. Look for wines from emerging appellations like Cote de Borg or Cote de Blaye - two right bank communes that are producing some sensational Bordeaux for around $30.00 per bottle.

We are the most experienced Bordeaux buyers in the province and we search out wines that have yet to be discovered by the critics or the consumers, at the same time we still purchase the traditional chateau that many of our clients have older vintages of, stashed in their cellars.

We have bought a broad range of wine - across all communes and we still have access to other less available wines, just call to discuss. Also pay particular attention to the wines from Margaux. This region has been a bit of a laggard in the reemergence of Bordeaux but the 2005 vintage allows these wines to really shine and many chateaux we have bought are in this market for the first time.

So whether you are an experienced Claret aficionado or are new to the game, 2005 is truly a vintage to take the plunge. With several superb Chateaux selling for under $400.00 a case, you will never regret having these wines tucked away in your cellar.
